Altered Embroidery Hoop - Winter Theme
This is only my second attempt at altering a hoop...I used Muslin (cotton) cloth to fasten in between the two hoops. After cutting the excess off, I glued the bits to the back of the hoop. In hindsight, the material I bought is just a little thin. Next time, I would get a slightly thicker fabric.
1) First, I start by planning my project.
8) Here are the final pics.I sprayed Lindy's Ethereal Emerald to give the heart a distressed look. I used silver, gold and blue glitter to add interest. I also used Cattail Copper Brown and Tibetan Poppy Teal sprays by Lindy's Gang.

1) First, I start by planning my project.
2) Next, I use a stencil with modeling paste for the background. This is from Finnabair.
3) Once I do that, I again place some objects on the hoop to get an idea of what I like. The heart is a clay mold. I tried using a ceramic jewelry lid to mold it, but it didn't turn out great, so I had to remold it a little with my hand. I pick some burlap flowers, a sample of a wood window treatment, paper flowers, and a chipboard flourish.
4) I use Lindy's Magicals Sassy Sapphire for the background.
5) I used Flat Fabio Sidewalk Chalk for the wood piece.
6) I also used Flat Fabio Sidewalk Chalk on the clay heart after covering it with heavy gesso.
7) Next, I used a stencil and blue modeling paste for more background.
8) I glued on the burlap flowers and then the rest of the embellishments. I placed another clay piece (which I painted copper) on top of the heart. I embossed the flourish with blue embossing powder. I also added tiny blue and white paper flowers.
